Out For Sunday Lunch,

so a walk to the top of the road,

but first a quick pose by the pool,

then on to the baht bus, for the 10 baht ride into town,

and this is where we were going,

 Dicey Reilly's, on Second Road,

and this is what we were here for, the carvery,

and with all of the trimmings that go with it,

 lots of heated,

and covered dishes,

 plus a cooking station,

 and for starters,

a salad bar with cold cuts,

 and a selection of breads,

 on to desserts,

a large selection to choose from,

 so on to our starters,

in the back ground a two piece band, thankfully singing quietly,

on to our main courses, a choice of turkey, fish Wellington, yes I said fish, and beef,

nice Yorkshire puddings to choose from,

 so carve away,

 after our main course,

we decided we decided on a second plate, for Diana lamb pie with a cheese sauce,

then on to desserts, a great meal, at 499 baht per person, but the wine at 199 a glass, or at 1,800 a bottle added a bit to the final bill,

we walked back to the baht bus rank, past Ripley's,

with it's aircraft in the front of it,

and the shrine outside of the hotel,

then a walk along Dongtan beach and we were home,

in the evening it was the 2002 version of Goodbye Mr. Chips, a remake of the far superior for it's time classic,

which we followed with the 1965 film The War Lord, with its strangely haunting music, made into a pop hit by The Shadows

the backing group for Cliff Richard, lastly a couple from Reggie and his Grot empire and we were off to bed.
