How Many Times Have You Washed Your Car,

and then have a bird do a whoopsie on it?

when I was back in the UK more times than I care to recollect, but then I had to park under a tree as it was my designated parking spot, well this has been happening to residents in the up market exclusive Clifton area of Bristol in the UK, so several years ago the residents put anti-bird spikes on the trees over their cars, to protect them, the same way that many companies or householders do to protect their buildings, what a brilliant idea, it was just a shame that the trees above my car were too tall to do this with,

back to the story, well it has come to the attention of Paula O’Rourke, the Green Party councilor who represents the area, commented to the Guardian, "I will be looking into this at the council. Whether allowed or not though, it looks awful, and it’s a shame to see trees being literally made uninhabitable to birds – presumably for the sake of car parking. Sometimes it’s too easy to lose sight of the benefit that we all gain from trees and green spaces and from the presence of wildlife around us in the city." so I guess she will also be demanding that her council remove the anti bird spikes in Bristol's Broadmead and Cabot Circus which I presume her council installed to protect shoppers from bird droppings? the good news is that the trees are on private land so hopefully the spikes will stay, there is of course another option, as the trees are on the car owners land, chop the trees down, then Paula O’Rourke will have nothing to complain about!
