First Thing Diana Was Off To Work,

so after breakfast,

I had a look at Day three of the sparkly bubbly advent calendar, and found a different labelled bottle, I wonder if there is a different type of bubbly every day? in the fridge with the bottle to sample as I watch television this evening,

the buds on one of the orchids has at last started to open in to flowers,

 and different they look too,

also first thing, one of the gardeners arrived,

to trim the top and side of the Leylandii hedge that marks the border of the houses garden,

 for myself I popped upstairs,

to play with a couple of images we took,

when we went to the orchid show at Kew Gardens in March 2018,

 and spectacular it was too,

back to the photographs, black and white,

and one of my favourite effects, this sepia toned look, with a vignette edge that makes the photograph appear as if it was taken long ago,

this straight out of the camera,

 colour swapped,

 some added,

 and a lot added,

for this black and white I wanted to give the sky a dark menacing look,

and again, a sepia toned look, with a vignette edge

going downstairs for my evening meal, the hedge was not finished so either it will be completed on the next visit, or the cutting machine developed a fault,

I watched Tut, which we had seen before, but such a long time ago it was nice watch again, a really enjoyable mini series, this is my comment from the first time we watched the series, 'a television mini series about the youngest Pharaoh to rule Ancient Egypt, Tutankhamun, we have watched many documentaries on this period of Egyptian history, some detailing how the various buildings and monuments would have look at the time in the colours that were known to have been used, the result is the architecture in this series is stunning, the buildings looking just as we would have expected them to look at the time, the story line somewhat improbable but this is not a history lesson it is a drama made for television, albeit with great attention to buildings and dress', next a call from Diana,

Diana had been asked to work late, so at 11.15 I was off to the station to meet her, we arrived home and watched the last of Taboo, thoroughly enjoyable, such a shame the next series is not here yet, but will be hopefully soon, well some time next year, we are only making a couple of posts today as it is Diana's day off, so we are out, and there is a surprise in store for myself, as a Christmas present Diana has bought two tickets for a show in London for this evening, I wonder what? and with that we were off to bed.
