Looking Much Like,

the 2015 i8,


 BMW have just announced at the at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week, the new i8 Roadster which is a two-seater model with an retractable soft top,

the car has a hybrid engine, which combines battery and petrol-combustion power,  the BMW i8 Roadster has a similar look to the four-seater i8 Coupe, released in 2014, which we saw at the Pattaya Boat Show in November 2015, and then again whilst taking a tour of Greenwich in July of 2016, the car features include gull-wing doors, which hinge at the roof rather than the sides, and gullies along the chassis that channel air past the car, the tail lights wrap around the resulting gaps at the back, however, BMW's senior vice president of design Adrian van Hooydonk told journalists that the i8 Roadster "does not have the typical design language of its breed", He pointed out that elements like a rear spoiler and a quad exhaust, typical of sports cars, are purposefully not included on this model,

the car has a hybrid engine, which combines battery and petrol-combustion power, and allows the car to "sprint" solely using electricity, the battery has an electric range of up to 55 kilometers, and the vehicle can go from zero to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 4.4 seconds, reaching speeds up to 250 kph. the BMW i8 Roadster goes on sale in January 2018, and it is yours for just £124,730 in the UK, well the basic model,

but here is the thing, a battery range of just 55 kilometers? so to go from my apartment on the outskirts of London to Brighton and back I would have to stop and recharge the car three times, unless I wanted to use petrol which some what defeats the purchase of an electric car, still if the mayor London has his way you will not be able to have a car anyway, the London mayor said he wants to reduce road congestion and air pollution with his draft Transport Strategy, Sadiq Khan is banning car parking spaces around new homes and offices in the capital in a bid to cut cut car use, under the scheme, parking spaces will not be allowed as part of residential developments which have the best public transport links, while new offices in the center of the capital will not be able to include commuter or visitor parking, he is confident that public transport will take new home and business workers where they want to go, in other words he has never tried to commute to or from London in the rush hour, well why would he, he has a chauffeur!
