We Do Not Often Go To The Cinema,

but we do want to see 1917,

basically the film is about a couple of 'runners', as they were known in WWI, to deliver a message, for some reason people seem to have got it into their heads it was a 'one shot' movie, that is there were no cuts or edits, which of course is complete nonsense, to the best of my knowledge there has only been one movie made that was one shot, no cuts or edits at all,

and that was Russian Ark, that I raved over way back in March 2012, when we were still living in Thailand, from the post,

'2000 cast members, 3 orchestras, 33 rooms, 300 years, ALL IN ONE TAKE, yes no director yelling 'cut', all in one take, all 99 minuets of it, the preparation for this unforgettable night took almost four years, it was seamless',

that does not take anything away from 1917, but it was not a one take movie, below is how 1917 was made to appear if it was one take,

in any event we are both looking forward to stocking up on the popcorn and watching it!
