The Hubble,

works 24 - 7,

the space telescope explores the universe 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, that means it has observed some fascinating cosmic wonder every day of the year, including on your birthday, well as my 70th was just 2 days ago I had to have a look, so on the 14th April it looked at this,

Galaxy ESO 99-4, which is a galaxy with a highly peculiar shape, it is probably the remnant of an earlier merger process that has deformed it, leaving the main body largely obscured by dark bands of dust, so if you want to see what the Hubble was looking at n your birthday, just go to,

then enter the month and date to find out what exactly the Hubble was looking at! photograph credit, NASA, ESA, the Hubble Heritage Team (STScI/AURA)-ESA/Hubble Collaboration and A. Evans (University of Virginia, Charlottesville/NRAO/Stony Brook University).
