As I Have A Early Morning Appointment With Our Accountant,

I will only be making one post today,

as it was Diana's day off, we had already decided to visit Chegworth PYO plum farm, yesterday we had checked their web site to make sure they were open, and they were,

it was a terrible day, lashings of rain, and grey skies,

we made our way past quant buildings,

and water logged roads, we had been following a huge truck before we turned into the road that leads to the farm,

after 40 miles or so there it was,

and guess what? you guessed it, the gate was chained up, the farm locked, I guess that is that for the season, a pity they did not say so on their web site, as it happens two cars behind us followed us and then had to drive past looking for somewhere to make a 'U' turn, what a disappointment, and waste of time and fuel,

we soon caught the truck up,

we decided to head for a nearby nursery for a coffee and a cake,

thankfully the rain had stopped, we had brought wellies and wet weather coats along with us for the picking,

in the event not needed,

even in the middle of the countryside, road works!

we continued towards the nursery,

passing lots of oldie-worldly buildings on the way,

and here we are,

a nice stand of bamboo in the car park,

I should mention the nursery happens to be the South East's largest rose grower,

we decided on a coffee,

before looking around,

into the coffee shop,

whilst Diana ordered our drinks,

I made my way to the main building looking for the toilets,

when ever I see one of these Easter Island heads I am always reminded of Dum Dum,

in the film Night at the Museum,

into the main building that has all of the dry goods inside,

on my way back to Diana I had a look around,

the place is huge and spacious,

I liked these bee pots,

each one with a honey bee motif,

and of course you should 'Bee Kind',

I looked over the plants for sale to surprise Diana,

past a few more pots,

to our coffee and cake,

we started our walk around the nursery,

looking at the pond,

and this I thought really neat,

a modern old setting,

if only we had a garden and it was big enough!

what a delightful way,

to add interest to even the most plain garden,

the outdoor section was well stocked,

as were the aquatics,

we made our way back to a rather dirty car,

for the drive back home,

the sky was clearing the nearer we got to home,

we were soon into the park and home, I did remember to zero the car before we left, the stats for the day,

a total of 84.4 miles door to door,

we averaged 32 MPH, which was not too bad considering the amount of time we spent in narrow country lanes,

the car returned 46.7 MPG, considering it is the sports version of the saloon and a fairly large car I thought was pretty good, indoors we watched a Murdock Mysteries, one form the Doctor Blake series before a couple of quiz shows and our evening meal, then a real treat,

the next and last 4 episode of World Without End, what a great series, the last episode a bit improbable, the villagers holding a battle trained army off for so long, but enjoyable neither the less, after which we were off to bed.
