If There Is One Thing I Hate,

it is window shopping,

for myself and I guess many other guys, I know what I want, I go into the shop buy it and leave, the thought of bimbling aimlessly along rows of shop windows in a mall or High Street just does not bear thinking about, but if shop windows looked like these I might spend more time looking in them,

they are the work of French duo Zim & Zou, who were commissioned to design and handcraft colourful paper installations for the display windows of the new Hermès store at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai,

the project titled Paper Folks includes two scenes depicting the fairy-tale world of cute little characters and their natural homes that resemble oversized flowers and mushrooms,

from Zim&Zou: ‘Nature is surrounding us and never cease to evolve since its beginning, its run defines the world we’re living in. Nature is linked to every living beings, and every living being is linked to it. In this project, spectators have a sneak pick of the curious characters living inside this environment. This microscopic point of view, where plants and other vegetal reign as masters, is like a kind of picture, a flash, a precise instant in nature’s unrestrained run. Life is everywhere, flowers are growing and carry away its inhabitants in their impetus. This mysterious people is evolving, building, and living right in the heart of the nature, revealing a fragment of their daily life.’ Well I just think the displays look so nice it would make me stop and look no matter what was being sold.
