This Pretty USA Penny,

will make you a lot more if you have one,

the coin came up for auction at Heritage Auctions who announced last Friday that the penny was sold during Thursday's auction based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to an American buyer who wishes to remain anonymous, so what makes this penny so unusual? it is made of glass! During the war, copper was needed for ammunition, the U.S. Mint authorised tests that included making uncirculated pennies from other metals, plastic and rubber, The Blue Ridge Glass Co. in Tennessee made experimental pennies using tempered glass, the penny is likely unique since the pennies former owner Rodger Burdette says only one other glass penny exists and it is broken, but you never know, there just could be another one tucked away in a drawer some where and why should you look? this one sold for $70,500!
