Take It Down,

or leave it?

that is the question Masanao Itaya, owner of the Hangai clothing and miscellaneous goods store in Nagahama City, Japan’s Shiga Prefecture has to decide, the sign which features a cute baby was placed above his store about 10 years or so ago, the sign reads “We have lots of good, cheap things”

but last year after so much exposure to the sun, the sign started to change, to a eerie sight, with the baby’s eyes and mouth becoming pitch black, this year the look became even worse,

the baby's face looking like a horror movie nightmare, from the article:

‘Last summer, Masanao Itaya, owner of the Hangai clothing and miscellaneous goods store, told Japanese news agency FNN that he noticed the damage to his store sign in August and meant to change it, fearing that it would scare customers away. However, the Obon Festival came, and by the time he finally got around to changing it, he noticed something strange. People from all over the country were coming to his store to see and photograph the “possessed baby” sign, so he decided that taking it down would be bad for business’,

last month it got even worse, but here is the thing, the sign once again made news headlines in Japan, which has a great effect making new people coming to his shop and looking at the sign, and giving his shop nationwide coverage, so what to do? Keep it until at least Halloween has passed, then make a new normal sign that can be removed for Halloween in years to come, or take the easy way out, just leave it alone? the article from FNN is here.
