As Promised The Locksmith Called In,

all went swimmingly well,

the new cylinder fitted perfectly, but, whilst the key from the outside worked fine, the handle from the inside had a internal piece of it that had snapped off,

the reason for the handle inside is so that in an emergency a key is not needed to exit the hall door, the bad news, the unit is not a piece he stocked, so he will order the part and call back in the New Year, why could the piece not have broken or been in stock? but there it is,

during the day it was my turn to bring in the dustbins, looking along the pathway the flooding had gotten worse, so after eventually finding which department in the council to send the photographs to, so that a drain cleaning team could be sent round, I sent them, later in the afternoon I actually received a response, I now have a incident number!

in the evening I had a read and a sherry,

the book titled The Rev. J. G. Wood: His Life And Work, is an extremely enjoyable read, so much so I read 50 pages,

tonight a smoked salmon sandwich,

before I was off past the tennis courts to the club,

Christmas tree in the window,

as usual our genial host Rob looked after us, after chatting the night away we said our farewells, arriving home Diana was already there, so a chat and a nightcap it was as we watched a New Tricks, with that we both wish you all a very Merry and Happy Christmas, and with that we were off to bed.
