Another Day Of Only One Post,

note to self, stop taking so many photographs!

we decided on a pre-lunch walk in the park,

I had a hope that the bluebells would be out,

it was a nice sunny day,

a quick pose and we were off,

that sign is new,

I have to say when you see the state of Westgate Road, only people that live there or go to school there would use it anyway,

this is where we are going,

and where we have come from,

along some of the verges,

huge daffodils,

on both sides of the road,

this is Westgate Road, a quagmire in the winter and a dust bowl in the summer, actually there is a third reason to drive here, to avoid the extortionate parking charges in the park car park,

lots of visitors today,

but we soon had our walk pretty much to ourselves,

up Crab Hill, so called because of the number of crab apple trees that used to grow here,

looking down,

a bit early for this years leaves,

I am guessing a part of what was once a Prisoner of War camp,

a little about it,

just one dog walker,

on the left the path that goes through the bluebells,

and guess what?

not a bluebell flower in sight!

we continued our walk,

but I have to say,

I think this year there will be a bumper crop of flowers,

everywhere we looked so many clumps of leaves were showing,

hopefully in a month or so we will be back,

we walked towards one of the main paths,

a quick pose,

and I had to as well!

another from Diana,

as we neared the lake,

in the distance,

the mansion house we were walking to,

Diana mentioned it and I agreed with her, it was such a shame that the fencing around the lake could not somehow be made to look better, it just makes the area look like an abandoned building site, and what a waste of money, building a seat you can not sit on!

a little about the lake,

we started our walk along side the lake,

one from Diana,

there was only one swimmer to day and no kayaks,

the storm damage to the tents a few weeks ago I guess will be replaced before the start of summer,

we walked to the end of the lake and started uphill,

in the distance the kids playground,

hopefully in a few months we will be sitting here having a picnic,

the formal gardens,

I just had to!

all around the center of the garden a bed of daffodils,

a little about the garden,

and here is some of it, in a few months it will be a riot of flowers,

I am not a gardener so I am not to sure what is happening here, perhaps the covers are to starve weeds of sunlight and kill them?

we planed to have a coffee,

but the queues in the courtyard were huge,

so home it was then, but as we neared the mansion,

we saw a number of tents,

lots of them,

Diana was on a lookout for a couple of cakes,

but nothing really took her fancy,

so we made a move for home,

a last look,

and then past the parked cars,

eventually the pathway was clear of cars, so getting run over by a speeding cyclist was no longer a worry,

looking back to the mansion,

the road gate locked, so for cars there is only one way in and out on the other side of the park,

past the snail mail box,

over the road the tennis courts of the club,

as it is the weekend the road full of cars,

time for a read and a sherry,

outside one of the neighbours magnolia was putting on a good show,

'Cheers!',

for today a roast chicken, with gravy for Diana,

sans gravy for myself,

we rounded off with rum and raisin ice cream,

delicious! then a change of our day, Diana does not normally work on a Sunday, but she was asked to go in today as the store is being modernised, so for myself it was upstairs,

to the man attic,

I tried again to upload songs from the computer onto my telephone, several times I tried, and then for no disenable reason my telephone was recognized! so as I am typing this I am listening to some old favorites like Sargent Peppers, Billy J Kramer, Bread and Wayne Fontana to name just a few, back to Sunday,

in the evening it was feet up for Alien Warfare, after film finished I was amazed, looking at the IMDB site, it actually received one star! then I realised you could not give half stars, to say the film was dire insults the word dire,

keeping to a sci-fi theme, and a much more professional offering I decided to watch Riddick, I had watched the film before, but just fancied watching it again, as it happens just as the film finished Diana arrived home, so a couple from Columbo before we were off to bed.

Dear Stanley and Diana: sorry about the Bluebonnets, ours will bloom in a couple of weeks. Alley and I were both jealous as you folks are able to buy Rum Raisin ice cream. We like it and have looked for it all over, but not to be found! Lucky you two!!🍀 Funny about the fence blocking the park seat and also the story causing people to park outside the car parking area to save the fee. Seems our governments are more interested in revenue that providing actual services. They seem to look at everything they touch as a potential earner! And, most the public asks, where did all the money they collected go?? That is because there doesn’t seem to be improving conditions you would expect if the money was spent wisely! No worries, we can’t do anything about it so so we must just move on with a positive attitude and have fun! Regards John and Alley

Dear John and Alley, I think your Bluebonnets are slightly different from our Bluebells, but we will be back to see them next month, have you tried Haagan Dazs rum and raisin ice cream? in todays post I have made a link to confirm it dose indeed have rum in it, as for the fence what on earth were the fencing contractors thinking? I can understand why people do not want to pay in the car park, I was told although I cannot confirm it, a day ticket for the car park is £18.00 at todays rate $24.75 also it has to be said the car park is woefully small the planners did not have a plan! best regards, Stan and Diana.
