We Often Start One Of Our Days Out,

at Blackheath,

Diana on the heath on our last visit, the area is owned by Lewisham council, and is responsible for amenities like car parks, and as it happens has unveiled its new car parking charges, the rates based on whether the vehicle is Euro 6 compliant, which tax band it falls into and the duration of the stay, compliant vehicles are charged much lower rates than those emitting more CO2 per kilometre, it all sounds good so far, but radio host Danny Baker slams the council for making what should be a easy to do task into one so complex, he posted the photograph he took below of the charges on Twitter, there are of course a couple of different bands and rates to charge motorists, but how many would you think? when you have a number in mind, scroll down for the answer,

there are 130 options! get the ticket you are buying wrong and you will be fined! Baker, 64, told his online followers: 'Went to park up in the same little car park I've used near me for 25 years, excited to see the council have introduced a streamlined E-Z new payment system that in no way suggests they have too much time on their hands these days.' He added: 'Those of us worried what WW3 would do for global emissions can rest easy. Lewisham Council's exciting new tariffs… will offset all that.' Twitter users backed the outspoken comic, Graham Cope said of the list of charges: 'Well that's clear as mud. Seriously, who knows the grading of their own car as suggested?' for the full story have a look here, our local council working for us, I am just glad we take a bus to Blackheath!
