again,
whilst there last Sunday, we noticed so many antique shops, we had to call back, so parking behind the church,
we made our way into the High Street,
shops on both sides,
but we were not at the antique shop section of town yet,
but we were passing lots of tea rooms and cafes,
it is at this junction the antique shops begin
along this narrow street,
unfortunately not open, and difficult to photograph,
this shop specializing in military items like this musket,
and here is a shop I will be looking at on the way back,
as well as antique shops there were a few with more modern themes, like this one selling wool and giving lessons in knitting,
another to look at on our way back along the other side of the street,
I am not sure what this building was originally used for, but today it is a huge pet outlet,
we crossed the road and made ourway up the other side, looking across to shops that we had visited,
I would have visited here, but I am driving and still on my alcohol free month,
there seems to be no plan in the design of the street, buildings seem to be just added ad hoc,
then time for tea and cakes, a walnut slice for Diana,
and a slice of fruit cake for myself, alas our trip enjoyable as it was did not bear fruit, the period we were interested in, art deco, was not represented here, if you are interested in antiques before 1900 this is the place for you, literally thousands of them from whole rooms of furniture to the smallest of items, but hardly an item in the time period we were interested in,
we made our way back to the car,
passing this colourful flower shop, then a leisurely drive home, after our evening meal a few quiz shows, followed by a few Murdoch Mysteries, one from New Tricks and we were off to bed.
