we both love the macaroons,
like the ones they sell at Polhill Garden Center,
which despite looking elsewhere in every bakers we come across, we have not found, so here we are,
but first,
breakfast in the seafood stall,
a dash of vinegar,
a seat outside in the spring sunshine,
and here are the little beauties, whelks, what a great way to start the day,
the giraffe still here, no buyers yet,
we had a look at some of the plants stalls,
this seemed a neat idea, just buy the small pot and plant, and you can mix and match,
may of our old favorites still here,
like these airplants,
and cactus,
one of the many staff here making a new display of potted plants,
lots of primroses,
and primulars,
like these,
nowadays there are so many colors to choose from,
as well as other bedding plants,
one plant I would have if we had a garden are these,
lots of them, outside hardy orchids,
we walked past a few more displays of plants for sale,
then outside,
to the fir trees, just the right size for next Christmas!
lurking amongst them,
a couple of pachyderms,
a must for every garden,
or for a more realistic look,
how about some of these?
Tiger, tiger, burning
bright
In the forests of the
night,
What immortal hand or
eye
Could frame thy fearful
symmetry?
the poem Tyger by William Blake, not to
be confused with the poem by
Rudyard Kipling, Tiger - Tiger!
What of the hunting,
hunter bold?
Brother, the watch was
long and cold.
What of the quarry ye
went to kill?
Brother, he crops in the
jungle still.
also "Tiger! Tiger!" is a short story by Rudyard Kipling. A direct sequel to "Mowgli's Brothers", it was published in
magazines in 1893–94 before appearing as the third story in The Jungle Book,
following "Kaa's Hunting", the title is derived from William Blake's
poem "The Tyger",
as proud as a peacock is the saying,
all under the watchful eyes of Guy, (and yes I did get to see him many times over the years),
and the piercing stare of an owl,
we made a 'U' turn past the succulents,
and potted patio plants,
any of these would make a great splash of spring colour,
if only we had a patio!
then surrounded by plants it was time for Diana's breakfast, a bakewell tart, we then spent the rest of the day driving around the English countryside, Malling, Tonbridge, Hadlow and so many other places, arriving home after our evening meal it was feet up for a couple of games of Monopoly, I will not embarrass anyone by saying who won, but I lost both games,
to round the evening off Waterworld, which we had watched before, but was great fun to watch again, and with the end of that we were off to bed.
