Our Day Started With A Bang,

a big one,

as I was typing the blog and Diana was watching the television, the sun heated up one of the balloons and as it expanded it burst, with such a bang we both literally jumped from our seats!

so of course all of the gold stars inside went everywhere,

 'look at the mess!',

Diana was not too sure about bursting the others, so it was down to me,

and here goes,

even more stars to pick up now!

I forgot to mention a birthday watch,

the blue version of the gold Filippo Loreti, I already own, it matched the blue shirt Diana bought me perfectly,

Steve and Kai kindly picked us up,

 and drove us to Blackheath,

 where in the park,

the cherry blossoms were looking nice indeed,

as the girls posed under them,

 it was a chilly day,

 but thankfully,

 nice blue skies,

all of the blossoms were pink, except,

this one that was growing from the root stock of a pink one,

the blossoms themselves were nearly all open, just two buds to go on this one,

 and all open here,

 such a lovely sight,

of course both of the girls were taking selfies, telephones in hand,

well not all of the time,

 so time for a pose,

 or three,

there was just so much blossom,

another week or so I am guessing and it will all be over,

so if you are planning to visit the blossoms make it soon,

well I had to get in one of the pictures!

we then walked to the riverside,

 past the Trafalgar Tavern,

 to the riverbank,

 for a couple,

 of photographs,

looking towards the now disused coaling wharf, work is still going on at the riverside,

 across the river Canary Wharf,

 my turn for a picture,

we were soon at the Cutty Sark,

which we passed and made our way to the covered market in Greenwich,

as we first walked in it was quite crowded,

 due to the foodstals,

in the upper half of the market,

antiques stalls selling all manner of items,

some specialising like this one selling books,

there were also stalls selling new goods,

 like this one with wirework,

this one selling handicrafts as well,

 like these mini villages,

 next stop, food!

so we went to Pho Street

 a Vietnamese fast food restaurant,

the girls ordered a bean coffee, whatever that is,

our food arrived, spicy noodle soup,

 Vietnamese spring rolls,

 chicken noodle soup,

 and a chicken curry,

spicy beef curry for Steve,

 'Cheers!',

 we walked through the campus,

 of Greenwich university,

where the scenes in some films like these,

Thor: The Dark World (2013)
The Crown (2016– )
Sherlock Holmes (2009)
Les Misérables (2012)
Cinderella (I) (2015)
Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)
Skyfall (2012)
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015)

were shot, plus a few more I can think of,

the campus food truck I am guessing, as it did not have front or rear number plates,

our next stop was to the top of the park where we live,

we had not walked into it this way before, Steve suggested it might be nice as the area is known for its blue bell woodland,

 so in we went,

I am guessing this tree was a victim of the great storm, that took down so many trees in the park,

 and here they were,

in truth we were most probably,

 about a week early,

but it was still so nice to see,

the paths lined on both sides by flowers,

but whatever you do, do not tell Kent County Council, here is what they thought yesterday when it came to 17,000 rare and endangered orchids,

under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, if you or I took just one of these plants we would prosecuted by the Kent County Council and the police with the full might of the law, with fines of up to several thousands of pounds, but the council? 17,000 plants destroyed, and no attempt to save even a few, I was going to call the fools that did this Vandals, then I realised I would be insulting real Vandals out there,

after saying our thanks and goodbye to Steve and Kai and our evening meal, we watched a few quiz shows then feet up for Robin Hood, great fun to watch, but totally implausible, but then that is what films like this are all about, we are only going to make one post today as we are out for the day, and with the end of that we were off to bed.
