and so were we,
in the afternoon,
we left Beckenham,
and headed down into Kent,
over the River Medway,
in the distance the town of Rochester,
we were getting near,
our destination,
the village of Bridge, for an afternoon tea,
we parked up next to a green with this huge tree in the center of it,
a short walk,
and we were here, at the Tulip Tea Rooms, which is linked to a florist,
with its World War II theme, it suited us perfectly as was the tea and sandwiches,
toasted cheese and ham for Diana, and a cheese and Branson for myself, both accompanied by salad, crisps and mayonnaise,
then a real delight,
hot scones with fresh cream,
and strawberry jam,
lots of it, the owner Leigh-Anne and her assistant made us feel more than welcome, what a perfect afternoon treat and ride out, if you like quintessential English country style treats like this, the Tulip Tea Room is the place to be! as an aside to find gems like this we look at the English Tea Room Guide by Joe Ellis,
very enjoyable treat over we made a move back home, passing a vehicle I have not seen in this guise before, a hovercraft, but for use with the emergency services, where 4WDs and boats can not go,
we stopped off at the local Homebase by Peter Pan's Pool, (I remember it well from the early 1960s), for a few household items,
I could not help but notice the heather on the way in, after a evening snack it was feet up for a few television programmes, then a couple from Peaky Blinders and we were off to bed.
