As It Is Wednesday,

and I am off first thing to visit Duncan,

I will only be making one post today, whilst moving things upstairs for the builders visit tomorrow I came across a photograph album, and it it was this, way back in the late 1980s, I along with a friend we made a number of trips abroad looking for new species of fish, on our return from Zambia, Zaire and the Republic of the Congo, a newspaper did the above article about myself, it is in an album with sticky pages so I did not want to remove it in case I damage it, hence the not very good reproduction, but I thought it might be of interest,
I am not sure how easy the text is to read,

so I have enlarged it a tad,

I had a quiet afternoon, in the evening after a couple of quiz shows and my meal it was feet up for what was billed as a comedy, Pixie, whilst interesting and quite a good story it was not what I would call a comedy, but was easy going to watch,

just as Casino Royale, started Diana arrived home, so it was feet up for a coffee and a chat before the film ended, after which we were off to bed.

Dear Stanley and Diana
Thanks for sharing such an interesting article. I bet when you stumbled on the album it transported you back to that special moment that you captured the fish. We all have very special memories but they are seldom top of mind unless triggered by a photo or something that triggers direct recall of the event. Add all the events for past 72 years and memory file cabinet seems pretty full. Nice to be able to enjoy and share memories like this one!
Thanks-John &Alley

Dear John and Alley, I had forgotten about the article, so it did bring back so many memories of our trip, like being held in a police cell accused of smuggling heat packs across the river Congo, these are used to keep the fish warm whilst in transit by plane to the UK, eventually Nicola our agent smoothed the way for our early release, as it happens all was in order, but a little brown envelope made sure it was! not so happy memories! but overall it was great fun, in my time Neil and myself also travelled in India with a government official, to Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, looking for new spices to catch, breed and export from India to the aquatic trade, we had a 4 X 4 which when ever we got bogged down some how with one exception it was always my turn to dig out! as it happens I made a video of the trip so I will look it out, it is somewhere upstairs at the shop, agreed so many memories over the years, best regards, Stan and Diana.
