We Continued,

in the Wolfson Gallery,

below two closeups of it,

we went to the next floor up,

and could look down to some of the galleries we had already visited,

the good news was that there were not that many people as I had expected, but of course it was still early,

I tried to find out more about this clock, but could not find any reference to it where we were standing,

a fantastical piece of glasswork,

so Diana just had to have a pose,

and so did I!

one more from Diana,

before we continued our trip,

it is a shame about the reflections but there it is,

into the Iron Gallery,

looking down,

so many everyday items, like these locks,

a quick pose from Diana,

we made our way into a section that featured very high class furniture,

then a favorite of mine, a room devoted to the Crystal Palace, the model looks complete,

but it is only a half model,

if you look carefully the model is made to look twice the size and complete,

by butting it up to a piece of mirror,

I still think it looks great anyway,

around the room there are lots of items of interest,

concerning the Palace,

and a very informative film show,

chronicling the building of Crystal Palace,

next to the display the Albert Memorial,

we somehow found our way back into the section from Japan, well that part that shows how the art of Japan influenced the UK

the vases below,

the influence even went as far as plays and musicals being made about the country,

then the often unappreciated Arts & Crafts movement,

we walked back,

into a part of the Iron Gallery we had not seen before,

Diana had seen a sign,

past David,

stopping first to look at some medals and medallions,

and details of how to make a cameo,

and here was the sign Diana had seen,

in we went,

I tried to capture the beauty of these two below,

but you really have to be here to appreciate them,

all of this just so amazing,

we moved into the Portrait Miniatures room,

tools of the trade,

magnifying glasses are provided, the room is kept dark as light might damage the portraits,

we found ourselves in the manuscript room,

and the second example of stained glass,

we started in the Silver Collection,

now this below, is what I call a wine cooler!

I will stop here, if you want to see that last part of our visit and our trip to Soho please hit the 'Older Posts' button on the bottom right.
