As Soon As I Had Made Yesterday's Post,

I was on my way to visit Duncan,

it seemed strange going on a Tuesday, but there is a train strike yet again on Wednesday, thankfully the staff normally strike on other days,

on to the number 54 bus and past Peter Pan's Pool,

a change of drivers at Catford garage,

I was soon passing the Catford cat,

and Lewisham market,

the florists still closed,

but the fruit and vegetable shop was open, so I bought Duncan some grapes,

the 09.31 Gravesend train running and on time,

the upline nearly empty as both London bound trains had just left,

a slightly cloudy day arriving in Gravesend,

but the cloud had started to clear by the time I arrived at the hill before the nursing home,

the first signs of autumn on the silver birch as some of its leaves have started to turn slightly yellow, Duncan was back to his usual self, chatting away, I told him of the places we had been to over the past week, the Waverley, cinema and the museum, I made a move as his lunch arrived, and we said our goodbyes,

only a short wait for the 13.34 to Blackheath,

any moment now,

and there it was,

arriving in Blackheath, the florist now open,

on one side of the doorway,

a nice selection of cut flowers,

onto the number 54 bus, the hanging baskets outside of the Lewisham Tavern,

putting on a good show,

the scaffolding for the bell tower still in place on what seems to be a never ending job,

going past Lewisham hospital the dead and dying sunflowers had now been removed,

the only bee garden looking like it should,

on the bus shelters, the rest had so few plants surviving it will take a year or more to grow back to as they should be,

I was wondering what the hold up was, road works, the gas company I guess had a leak,

still at least that will be cured, unlike this water leak,

despite countless attempts thousands of gallons of water continue to escape every day, and this is just what is pushed to the surface, underground the leak must be huge,

off of the number 54, past Foxgrove lodge and home, Diana had beaten me there, I had not mentioned it, but the signal on our television has become so bad normal channels are unwatchable, when the building has been finished we will call the aerial chap around to return the aerial to where it should be, I guess one of the builders has inadvertently knocked the aerial slightly off of its normal place,

and some good news, some of the scaffolding is starting to be taken away, this part of the newly painted building looking so nice after it's facelift,

photograph BBC after our evening meal we watched couple of programmes from the series called Trawlermen: Hunting the Catch, in it the camera crews follow 3 UK trawlers through the seasons as they catch pollock, whiting, monkfish, dover sole, prawns, squid and whelks depending on the time of year and fishing grounds they are visiting, next a Midsomer Murder before Diana went to bed, she was on early shift this morning and will be for the rest of the week,

I then started to watch 2 episodes from Wolf Hall, which was very enjoyable to watch again before I too was off to bed.
