In The UK

councils take weeks, months, even years to repair a pothole in the road,

photographs Bored Panda.com now this is what you call a pothole! to be fair it is a sinkhole that opened up in the city of Fukuoka, Japan, the hole was 30m by 27m and 15m deep which opened up outside a busy railway station, so to repair power cuts, restore gas and water supplies, as well as fill everything with 6,200 cubic meters of sand and cement, took how long? less time than you could possibly think!

although health and security checks delayed the actual reopening of the site the repair took only 2 days! yes just 48 hours, according to the mayor Soichiro Takashima, the affected ground is now 30 times stronger than before. The workers involved in this engineering project have been praised by social media and everyone are happy that there wasn’t a single report of injuries, in the UK a undertaking like this would be measured in years, why can we not send our road engineers to Japan and learn how things like this should be done professionally? for the full story have a look here.
