Sunday Has Raced Around Again,

the time just flies past,

time for my pre lunch sherry and read,

I decided on a change of drink today, for no reason at all a bottle of bubbly,

our starter for today, cockles and toast,

the bubbly was putting up a fight,

and winning, I had to use a knife to prise the cork out,

any second now,

'Ta-Dah!',

at last,

for today roast pork, with gravy for Diana sans for myself,

Diana tried some bubbly with Ribena,

eyes down and tuck in,

for dessert apple pie,

with lots of custard,

after our meal we looked at a few photographs of the house in the Philippines, pluming and electrical conduit being laid,

as the house is getting taller,

so far everything is on track to be completed on time, it was then feet up for our Sunday afternoon film,

Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, which was great fun, and also surprisingly accurate in the aircraft filmed in it, the are two real vintage aircraft to be seen in this film. The first is a 1910 Deperdussin Monoplane is seen "revving-up" on the ground when we first arrive at Brookley. The second is a 1912 Blackburn 'Type D' Monoplane, twenty aircraft were built for the film and six of them could actually fly. There is a sequence in the film where seven aircraft are seen in the air, one was added post-production, two of the replicas (the "1910 Bristol Boxkite" and the "1911 Roe IV Triplane") built for the film still fly across the English countryside as both are preserved in the "Shuttleworth Collection" based at Old Warden, Bedfordshire, we had a Colombo evening, also an early night, Diana had an early start tomorrow and has to catch the N3 night bus at a tad after 04.00AM, so with that in mind just before midnight we were off to bed.
