Most Evenings When We Go Out To Eat,

I break a fashion convention that I remember from my Grandmothers day,

'a gentleman never wears brown shoes after 6.00 in the evening', was her dictum, as answered here, but most evenings I do wear brown shoes, normally brogues not Oxfords

but these brown shoes have a difference to normal footwear,

they are all made of chocolate! they are the work of specialist chocolatier Motohiro Okai, from Rihga Royal Hotel’s chocolate boutique L’éclat in Osaka, Japan and are known as “Gentleman’s Radiance” each shoe measures 26 centimetres (10.2 inches) in length, and comes with subtle differences in shades of “leather”, with dark, light and red-brown colours available,

each pair comes in a set that includes some impressive shoe care accessories, in the form of a shiny shoehorn made from chocolate, along with a tub of “shoe cream” containing round discs of tempered chocolate, but you had better be quick on your feet if you want a pair, only nine pairs will be made, the chocolate shoes will be available via prior reservation, with reservations being accepted from 20 January – 7 February, delivery is scheduled for 7-14 February, just in time for Valentine’s Day, and yours for just 29,160 yen (at today’s rate £206.60 or $257.70), and no I am not on commission, but what a great way to eat your shoes!
