we had not been for some time,
we picked up Nick and Maureen,
and settled in the first position that had a covered area to sit in, we normally sit more than a few places further along to be away from the speakers that are next to the covered area,
the reason we sat near the speakers was that the place was packed,
rain clouds started appearing,
and behind us we could hear thunder,
but no worries for us, we caught and had cooked the first two we caught,
the race was on,
I was lucky and built up a lead of three fish,
then the rain clouds closed in,
it just chucked it down,
the pictures hardly show how much it was raining,
everybody took shelter,
and with lightening and thunder crashing around us so did we!
it was raining so hard I could hardly see my float,
as the rain cleared Nick changed tactics,
and went for the larger fish,
and caught two big fish, but I have to say it, I won by a
considerable margin, but here is the strange thing, we were both using exactly
the same hooks, hook line and bait, except for the last half hour where Nick
change tackle to catch a couple of the larger fish, if you fancy a day out the
Paifon Fishing Park is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into
the Soi from Sukhumvitt, once in the Soi go over the railway crossing and
continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom
of it you will see a big pink building on the left where we normally turn right
into the old fishing park, do not turn right, keep going until you see Soi 24
and turn right, there is a 7-11 on the corner, continue for about a mile it is
past Soi 14, the concrete road comes to a strange cross road,
take the one with the sign on it and the park is on the left
hand side, we drove back to Nick and Maureen's for some coffee, cake and a
chat, then home,
after our evening meal and playing with the kittens, we
settled down for a few episodes of 3rd. Rock From The Sun, which for us was as
excellent as ever, and with that we were off to bed.
