the longest pedestrian
bridge of its kind in the world,
but please do not put me down for a ticket! all images
via Ponte 516
Arouca,
the
pedestrian bridge suspended 175-feet above the rocky gorge cradling the Paiva
River and opened in Portugal this week,
at
1,700 feet, it eclipses the former record-holder, the 1,621-foot Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge in the Swiss Alps,
the
steel construction is located in a five-mile stretch of the gorge known for
its wooden walkways,
another one of life's little pleasures that I will happily let pass me by! I do not like heights, so much so that I have not even looked at the video, look if you dare!
