A Dog House,

with a difference,

its style is minimalist, but made of the best quality materials,

and is built exclusively by hand by a number of Japanese palace carpenters and metal workers, working for Cultural Property Structural Plan Co., Ltd. which is an Osaka-based company in Japan specializing in the preservation and repair of cultural property buildings and seismic reinforcement design, the Japanese company announced a new project, codename ‘Inuden’, which involves building an exclusive dog house out of high-quality natural materials, using the same traditional techniques used on Japanese shrines, temples and castles, but here is the thing,

because this very special dog house is built by hand by a team of specialists who are also busy with restoring various architectural wonders, like palaces and temples, only one unit per year is going to be produced and sold, based on the Zenshu-sama style, one of the several styles used in Japanese shrine and temple architecture, the Inuden is made of hand-carved Japanese cypress, has a beautiful curved roof covered with stretched copper plates and features a granite base,

the Inuden Project aims to create and sell the ultimate dog house using the beauty and technology of Japanese shrines and temples by experts in traditional architecture,” the company writes in a press release. “The Inuden is made using genuine techniques by carpenters and sheet metal craftsmen involved in the construction of shrines and temples.”

Cultural Property Structural Plan Co., Ltd. will start taking orders for the Inuden dog house on September 1st, apparently if they get more than one confirmed order, a lottery will be held to determine who gets the one and only house being built this year,

if you have time grab a coffee and watch Japanese master craftsmen at work, fascinating to watch, did I mention the dog house is priced at $150,000? at today's rate £120,000! amazing, some lucky dog is going to live in it, but does the dog really apricate the cost?
