A It Is Diana's Day Off Today,

I will only be making one short post,

we have a day out planed so we will be out early, back to Thursday, as Diana was on late shift we had a quiet day,

after Diana had left for work, I printed a few things for the shop and tried to talk to one of the suppliers, Daisy, who the telephone lines are rented through, I was on hold, I looked at my telephone, I had been on hold for 43 minutes, I gave up and will try to talk to them again next week, next it was a black & white movie, set in the Second World War, it was one I had not seen before, The Way to the Stars, it featured an airbase in England first used by the British and then by the American air force, the film centres on the arrival of Pilot Officer Peter Penrose (Sir John Mills), and how he views relationships during the war, is it right to marry and have kids when everyday the husband may not come home from a mission? an interesting film, but so many others of the time are a more enjoyable watch,

after a couple of quiz shows and my evening meal I watched Red Planet, I had seen the film before with Diana, but it was nice to view it again, in the near future, Earth is dying, a new colony on Mars could be humanity's only hope, a team of American astronauts, each a specialist in a different field, is making the first manned expedition to the red planet and must struggle to overcome the differences in their personalities, backgrounds and ideologies for the overall good of the mission, as you can imagine it all goes horribly wrong, but a enjoyable film to watch with stunning special effects, shortly after which Diana arrived home, so a Lewis from ITVX after which we were off to bed.
