Electric Vehicles Are The Betamax Of Transport

the headline I never thought I would read!

photograph and story The Sun, I have always been critical of electric cars, from the way that all electric car owners turn a deaf ear to the incredible child cruelty that goes into the manufacture of their batteries, another newspaper, The Guardian, has tracked the cobalt supply chain from TFM and other industrial mines through a number of refiners and battery makers to some of the world’s leading electric car manufacturers, including Tesla, VW, Volvo, Renault and Mercedes-Benz, how can owners of these all electric cars continue to fund this exploitation of children? and worse is to come, back to the article from The Sun, "a report by Benchmark Mineral Intelligence — experts in the battery-to- electric-vehicle supply chain — estimates at least 384 new mines for raw materials such as graphite, lithium, nickel, and cobalt will be needed to meet global electric vehicle demand by 2035", more child labour, but hey it is all electric, who cares? then on to the totally inadequate system of charging them, and now lots of little known dark secrets are starting to appear, for instance it is a fact that manufacturing a “pure” battery-powered vehicle creates more CO2 than an equivalent fossil-fuelled car — in some cases up to 74 per cent more, according to Berryls Strategy Advisors, go electric? no thank you I will not be a part of the smug closed ears to child labour brigade, I will stick to my diesel!

Dear Stanley and Diana
USA got hit with an Arctic cold front during the holidays. Many news agencies around the country reported with the drop in temperature, EV car batteries took hours longer to charge…with many not charging at all. Seems cold temperatures slow the charging process, and that left thousands stranded away from home. Lines formed at charging stations but given slow process, many had to abandon their EVs and have fossil fuel cars of friends, family come rescue them. Meanwhile due to low batteries the EV heaters would not work, so people were stranded in life threatening situations. All of these facts add up to a non consistent experience that shows no reliably when using EV vehicles.
In USA EV expansion is just a Biden political agenda item to support the green groups of progressives with no benefit to environment or people. These same groups believe 2 + 2 = 7 with no ability to reason…just dumb sheep following a poor leader.
You were kind in reference to those that buy EV vehicles….I believe they are just plain stupid people that are being led down a path to destroy all values and ruin our country. Hard to believe but true!
Can’t wait to see their next progressive program!
Regards

Dear John & Alley, we already have 3 hour plus queues to charge all electric cars, from a post I made some time ago:

"I say this as only yesterday evening there were a number of huge advertisements on the television for the energy company Shell, the final piece of the advertisement ended with a triumphant claim that in a couple of years that the company will install 50.000 charging points on British streets, there are790,000 streets in Great Britain, divide that by 50,000 if my maths are correct that is one charging point for every 15.8 streets, it sounds more like a defeat than a victory, I wonder how long the queues will be to recharge your car if like us, living in flats can not have a home charging point?"

the post is here:

I am afraid we are going down the same road, a totally blinkered look at the cost, both human and financial, in trying to appease the tree hugging greenies that seem to have so much power over the citizens they are supposed to help, as I mentioned I will stick to my Jag! best regards, Stan and Diana.
