It Was Diana's Day Off,

and it was bright and sunny,

so glad rags on and we were our into the park for a walk to see the bluebells,

no parked cars to be seen now that people are back at work and the kids are back in school,

a quick pose by the cherry tree,

and one from me,

and this is where we are, Beckenham Place Park,

we made our way up Crab Hill, towards where the POW camp was in WW II,

we could not help but smell the fragrance of all of these hawthorn bushes,

there were so many of them,

nearly at the top,

in a few months time we will be returning to watch Jojo Rabbit, we first watched the film last November, from the blurb:

Join us at the Film & Food Fest South London and immerse yourself in the wild imaginary world of 'Jojo Rabbit'.

"Hitler Youth cadet Jojo Betzler firmly believes in the ideals of Nazism manifested by his imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler. However, his foundations are shaken when he finds a Jewish girl in his house."

Arrive early and sample some delicious street food from a wide range of local vendors, and enjoy a pint, prosecco, or speciality cocktail from one of the bars. Sit back and watch the short films and laugh along with the stand-up comedian before the main showing on our huge LED cinema screen.

VIP tickets already booked!

we walked down towered the Ravensbourne entrance to the park,

and saw our first few bluebells,

looking around,

we had the whole area to ourselves,

although there were quite a few here in flower they were slightly past their best,

in the sprit of things Diana was dressed for summer,

we continued our walk,

stopping occasionally,

for a pose or two,

a number of trees had fallen,

so Diana just had to have a pose,

and I had to take a panorama,

and this is what we were after,

but sadly although many were still out, they were past their best,

well I had to have a photograph too!

decision time,

we choose the route to the lake,

as I mentioned we had this part of the park all to ourselves,

as we made our way to the lake,

there were a few people,

on the jetty,

in the distance a swimmer,

braving the cold and hopefully not catching the infamous Beckenham Place Park Swimmers Itch, the tiny parasitic worm causes Cercarial dermatitis, the good news is of course that the worms at this time of the year are dormant, it is a summertime only complaint,

hopefully in the summertime the builders railings will be moved, they do spoil the view,

we made our way towards the gardens and coffee shop,

stopping to look at the flowers,

this aubretia

putting on a good show,

as were many of the other flowers,

like these tulips,

some bi-coloured,

a quick pose and we were on our way,

towards the mansion house,

the sun had gone in,

and it was decidedly chilly, so much so that Diana put her hood up,

as we neared the park gates a decision was made,

it was so cold that Diana would go home whilst I went to the shops for a few bits and pieces,

the cherry trees putting on a good display,

the magnolia just past its best,

there were some pink cherry trees here a few years ago, but now just white ones,

at the park entrance some cabling work being repaired,

at the entrance to Waitrose the shelves all ready for the bar-b-q season,

and no queues!

arriving home Diana had warmed up,

it was soon time for a read and a sherry,

for our starter,

Scottish mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce,

steak and mushrooms next,

'Cheers!',

we rounded off the meal with a Belgium éclair and fresh cream,

delicious! after our meal we watched a few quiz shows and then settled down for,

Breach or its other title Anti-Life, let me say there are bad movies, even worse there are awful movies, but I have run out of words to describe how dire this movie really is, yes it is that bad, when and if I come to the Pearly Gates I shall ask whoever is in charge for this one and a half hours of my life back! moving on some good news, New Tricks was going to start, so we watched that before we were off to bed.
