As There Are So Many Photographs,

I have split this post into two,

Sunday morning,

and we are off to Kew Gardens,

Diana all smiles,

we meet Steve and Kai on the train, we were soon at Victoria,

and crossing the road,

with the lockdown part finishing tomorrow I am guessing the bus depot here will be buzzing,

and this is where we were heading, Buckingham Palace Road,

there are 2 of them,

as well as a flower bed or two,

we were soon outside the Palace,

I had thought it would be packed with well wishers, but in the circumstances few were here,

Diana was soon snapping away,

as the guards changed, and no the guns are not loaded with live rounds, (most of the time),

a quick pose,

or two,

the weather so far has been kind to us,

although a request was given for there to be no flowers, many well wishes brought them along,

as I mentioned, not as many people here as I thought there would be,

I had to have a pose,

as did the girls,

the Royal flag at half mast,

and here is something you do not see every day,

the first one showing how to get on,

the second cyclist up and running,

not the easiest or safest way to travel around London once the lockdown is over,

a quick pose,

from Kai and Diana,

the memorial sans Diana,

we decided to cross the road,

and walked past the flower beds,

looking back to the Palace,

with Diana,

and this is where we were going,

we had a brief look around,

before heading back to Victoria,

Diana and Kai meeting Phanee on the way,

lots of police motorcycles,

we passed the Royal Mews,

and were soon near the tube station,

hopefully tomorrow the pubs, restaurants and other non-essential shops across the UK will be doing a roaring trade,

before setting off on the tube, a few refreshments were the order of the day,

and a McDonalds,

all set and ready to go,

13 tube stops later and it was time to buy cakes outside of Kew tube station,

next time we go to Kew I guess we will be eating here,

a rarity nowadays,

one of the original Routemaster buses,

we were soon in Kew Gardens, where we were all hungry, so out with the bubbly,

Steve and myself chose the bench,

which made opening,

and pouring a lot easier,

meanwhile the girls sat on a mat,

with a huge array of goodies,

Steve had made his own sandwiches,

I cheated, being notoriously bad at kitchen stuff, I bought a selection from M & S,

'Cheers!' from Phanee, then it was eyes down and tuck in,

lunch over we made our way to the avenue of cherry trees,

that last week were still in bud,

a week had made a huge difference,

but next week they should look fully open,

so long as they are not caught in a frost,

the girls walked back to join Steve and myself,

then it was time for some poses,

for the family album,

just a few more,

we will not be back to see the cherry blossoms until next year,

so we have to make the best of this year,

I took a walk past the girls,

as they made the best of the cherry blossoms,

girls pose! I will stop now and continue in the next post.

Stanley-thanks for taking time to publish all the beautiful pictures in this post. Spring is always a magic time and believe you have captured it! With the Covid-19 lockdowns and death of the Prince, it is good to see something from Britain that is fresh and happy. Good therapy for all no matter their location. Here is a “cheers” for efforts on this!!!
Regards,
John and Alley

Dear John and Alley, many thanks for your kind comments, we just hope all goes well with the lockdown, or I should say release from it! I have now had my second jab, after what seems like a never ending winter spring is defiantly here, so glad that you enjoy the photographs, best regards, Stan and Diana.
