commissioned some of the best architectural
minds in the world to build a bridge that could withstand any hurricane, and
they did, the bridge above, along came hurricane Mitch, which caused considerable damage to the
nation and its infrastructure, but the new Choluteca Bridge
survived with minor damage, but as they say, nothing stays the same forever, and that was so true of the Choluteca River, which was over 100 metres (300 ft) at
the bridge, although the hurricane hardly damaged the bridge, Mitch got its revenge in another way,
it changed the course of the river! nature can be so cruel.
