Over The Years,

we have been to many steam fairs,

like this one at Rudwick, way back in September 2010, as well as the steam engines there is also sometimes an accompany car and motorcycle show, with anything auto related on show, like these oil cans, but here is a oil can that is just so neat and original,

the oil can shaped like an oil derrick, which was a great way for the Marathon Oil Well company which started way back in 1887, to advertise itself, several small oil companies banded together to form The Ohio Oil Company. From this humble beginning, the company evolved into Marathon Petroleum Corporation, what a neat can, easy to remember and space saving when shipping, as the cans can be inverted to fill the packing crate, and the good news? if you want one of these for your collection, have a look here,7 days of bidding left, the bid as I write this $425, what a fascinating piece of auto history.
