By Now We Had Made Our Way,

to the really nice cherry tree that we saw last week,

it was even nicer this week if such a thing was possible,

one more for the album,

then some real fun, last week we saw the beginning of the Kew Garden Beano trail

this week we were in the middle of it,

and Diana as you can see in this, the first of three videos, found it hilarious! two more below the next few photographs

the signs try to describe the noise you hear,

when you step on the foot plate,

it was so funny,

as you can see,

from the videos, as you can imagine the kids found it all hilarious as well,

moving on, we looked at some of the trees nearby,

like this monkey puzzle tree, (Araucaria araucana),

the lake in the distance, this visit we wanted to look at the Rhododendrons and bamboos,

so we made our way to the lake,

but we stopped when we passed this tree,

it had some small cones developing on it,

they looked so colourful,

we were now on the bridge crossing the lake,

looking towards the far bank,

and island,

when I got mugged by this oh so friendly goose,

he just loved the peanuts,

in a moment here we were,

in the bamboo section,

which both Steve and myself like so much,

this yellow and green striped variety being very similar if not the same I used to grow in Thailand,

it had started to rain, so camera away until we reach the first of the Rhododendrons,

we seemed to have arrived mid way through the flowering season,

a few had already finished,

but there were still a few to admire,

like this one with double petals,

or this one,

with single petals,

it seems like a lot are in flower,

but it will be maybe a week or two before most are in bloom,

this one was huge, I nearly did not notice in the bottom right hand side,

this small example,

back to the big one, huge flowers,

group photograph,

it was now time for a coffee,

before we started making our way back to the lake,

last week these tulips had started to open,

this week perfection,

the weather cleared a tad,

so time for a pose,

from both of us,

one of the flower beds by the side of the lake,

we started to pass the Palm House,

in front of which the Fritillaries were putting on a good show,

opposite the lake,

where pots of fragrant hyacinths,

were in abundance,

and just had to be sampled,

and they looked so nice,

I had to have a pose as well!

looking across the lake,

news that I had peanuts on me for the birds must have travelled, as a duck singled me out,

a last look at the Palm House,

and a photograph,

and we were on our way past the garden shop, which I am guessing will be open tomorrow,

out of the gardens,

to the station, on the way home Steve had a look at his walking app. this week 4.5 miles, a tad less than last week, we said goodbye to Steve, Kai and Phanee on the way back, arriving home it was feet up for two episodes of Lewis, then for us we were off to bed.
