I Had A Quiet Day,

after Diana left for work,

in the evening time for a sherry and a read, 'Cheers!',

I have to say so far A Voyage in the Sunbeam has been a delightful read, with a few snippets in the volume, for instance what drove Christopher Columbus to believe there was land to the west? he had a compiling desire to go, but what drove him? I had no idea, until now, as the Sunbeam neared Madeira they stopped at Porto Santo, and as it happen Columbus had married the Governor's daughter, and whilst staying on the island he studied driftwood, on the west side of the island, that had come from the west! now I know why he was so convinced there was a New World to be found, and so started his plans to literally change the map of the world! after a snack of prawn crackers,

it was on to my starter of spring rolls and prawns on toast with sesame seeds,

my main course of chicken with cashews and chicken in satay sauce, with egg fried rice,

delicious!

a slice of cherry pie, with fresh cream, lots of cream!

later in the evening Diana telephoned, so off to the bus stop and home where it was feet up for a spiced rum nightcap and one from Midsomer Murder before we were off to bed.
